Description:
Drappier’s Carte d’Or Brut Champagne has all the aroma of the Pinot Noir quality grape-variety, which in fact makes up at least 80% of the blend. This is a black grape with white juice and is highly prized not only for its structure but also for the subtle notes of red fruits which characterise it.

The natural colour of the cuvée is rich gold. The palate is dominated by ripe fruits: peach, apricot and red fruits. The discreet dosage ensures that the natural freshness produces a finish of great length

Ratings:
“A gutsy, characterful, well-structured Pinot Noir-dominated cuvée from this excellent producer based on the 2002 harvest. Great Value.” Decanter Magazine. Top-ranked non-vintage champagne under £20/bottle in August 2005 Champagne Guide.

“Heady scent of jasmine and apple mark this flavourful, elegant bubbly. Lovely harmony between the lively structure and delicate texture lends finesse and class. Fine, lingering finish.” Wine Spectator.
“Michel Drappier produces this wonderful, soft, fruity champagne with a smooth style. Exceptional quality from this small house.” Atommedia.co.uk.

“Bags of turbo-charged fruit that will quickly go biscuity, the evolution of this cuvée is one of the most predictable, due to Drappier’s low-sulphur regime.” Tom Stevenson.

“Vibrant, lemony style with minerally acidity. Has some underlying power and is an attractive NV.” 89/100 Gourmet Traveller Wine, Jan 06
