Description:
The 1997 vintage in Champagne experienced winter frosts, spring frosts and a cold and wet summer, but the harvest was saved by a warm and sunny September.
Pinot Noirs from Aÿ, Vauzelle Terme (28%), and Verzenay (17%) and Chardonnay from Oiry Champ Braux (35%), Avize (9%) and Chouilly (11%) were vinified on lees in oak casks. No filtration was necessary for this cuvée.
Disgorged in the 4th quarter of 2007 and given a minimum dosage of 5 gr/litre.
Ratings:
“The 1997 vintage, which many Houses released and sold very quickly, here shows all its possibilities in a full, accomplished and serene style. It doesn’t have the persistence of the 1996 but a completeness that one can enjoy from this winter onwards.” Classement Revue du Vin de France 2009
