Description:
Generally a blend of two successive harvests, this wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. It spends six months in stainless steel vats prior to bottling and is then aged for a further 18 – 24 months on the lees.
This classical champagne has a beautiful, clear, yellow colour. The mousse is fine and lively with light bubbles and has a brilliant appearance.
Predominantly Chardonnay, the nose is floral and complex. On the palate the wine is fresh and develops notes of pear and sweet spices. The wine is ample and well-structured.
Ratings:
“Best to drink this invigoratingly fruity cuvée when still flush with youth.” The Millennium Champagne & Sparkling Wine Guide.
“This wine has an intense golden robe through which the effervescence contributes vivacity and cheerfulness. The nose is powerful, exuding aromas of straw, white fruits, pears and almonds. The mouth is crisp and generous, building to a fulfilling conclusion where flavours of peach and plum linger.” Guide des Vins.
